Nap Time Fights Start Already!

Yesterday evening Knox was crabby! I had just picked him up from daycare and the minute we walked in the door it started. The whining, and the crying every time I put him down. His eyes were pure red. He needed a nap and I needed supper! So, I tried rocking him. He fought and fought! Kicked and whined. Would take is pacifier out and chew on it. He would NOT go to sleep. So, I gave up. I put him on the floor to play. MISTAKE! Then the tears came out. So I finally put him in the swing that has sat in our living room for two months unused. He calmed down. So I went to change my clothes. I came out to find him playing with the toys quietly, sucking on his pacifier. I went in the kitchen to start making supper and after a few minutes, I didn't hear anything. This is how I found him...

The picture doesn't really do the situation justice. His arm is hanging over the side. It looks as if he was almost escaped from the swing when he suddenly fell asleep. I knew he was tired. He knew he was tired. But it had to be on his terms. There is no negotiating with a 6 month old baby! DUH! What was I thinking?

I emailed this picture to my parents. The subject of the message what Little Shit. My mom asked me this morning if I had sent this out to everyone calling him a little shit. I hadn't until now. Those were only a few of my thoughts at the time. I had worse things running through my mind.

I love the kid to death, but he may just send me to the nut house by the time this parenting thing is done!
